CarPulse ("we", "us", "our") is published by Mobile Alchemy. This policy describes what data the CarPulse iOS app collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Vehicle diagnostic data. When you connect an OBD2 adapter, the app reads diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), freeze frame data, sensor readings, and emissions readiness status from your vehicle's on-board computer. This data is stored locally on your device and in your iCloud private database (CloudKit). We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Vehicle profile information. You may enter your vehicle's year, make, model, VIN, and mileage. This is stored on-device and optionally in your iCloud account.
Subscription information. If you subscribe to Premium or Premium+, we use Adapty (adapty.io) to manage your subscription. Adapty receives a device identifier and purchase receipt to validate your subscription status. Adapty's privacy policy is available at adapty.io/privacy.
Crash and performance data. We collect anonymized crash reports and performance metrics through Apple's built-in crash reporting. No personally identifiable information is included.
When you view the detailed description of a diagnostic trouble code, the app may fetch extended information (explanations, common causes, symptoms) from our Cloudflare-hosted API. These requests contain only the DTC code prefix (e.g., "P03"), not your vehicle identity, VIN, or any personal information. Requests are served from Cloudflare's edge and are not logged beyond standard infrastructure metrics.
The app may display links to purchase OBD2 adapters through Amazon Associates and AliExpress affiliate programs. When you tap these links, you leave the app and visit the retailer's website. We earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We do not receive any information about your purchase from the retailer.
All vehicle diagnostics, code analysis, and sensor data processing happen entirely on your device. Your diagnostic data never leaves your device except through your own iCloud account or when you explicitly use the Export/Share feature.
All data is stored locally on your device and/or in your iCloud account. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove iCloud data, use your device's iCloud storage settings.
CarPulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
